This Privacy Policy explains how Garden Friend handles information when you use the app.
1. Who We Are
Garden Friend is operated by OLIVER JASON GEOFFREY BRUMFITT. If you have privacy questions, contact sidequestr@proton.me.
2. Data Stored on Device
- Garden tasks, reminders, and completion history.
- Garden memories (photos, captions, notes) you add in the app.
- App preferences and premium status cache.
This data is primarily stored locally on your device.
3. Data Sent to Third Parties When You Use Features
- Plant identification: selected image data is sent through the app's proxy endpoint to the configured identification provider (for example, PlantNet) to return identification results.
- Weather: selected city and coordinate query data is sent to weather providers (for example, Open-Meteo) to return forecast information.
- Purchases: subscription and purchase status may be processed by Google Play, Apple, and RevenueCat.
Third-party services may process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control those third-party practices.
4. Purchases and Billing
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by the platform you use (such as Google Play or Apple App Store), and subscription management may be handled through RevenueCat. We do not directly process your payment card information.
5. Permissions and Consent Controls
- Local notifications are used for garden reminders only if you grant notification permission.
- Camera and photo library access are requested only when you choose to capture or select photos.
- You can withdraw these permissions at any time in your device settings.
6. Data Retention, Deletion, and Requests
- You can clear local app data from in-app settings.
- You can remove the app to delete app data stored on device, subject to platform behavior and backups.
- If you need help with deletion or a data request, contact sidequestr@proton.me. Include enough detail for us to identify the request.
Data handled by third-party services is retained according to those services' policies.
7. Children's Privacy
Garden Friend is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13. The app does not include account registration, and we do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through app features, contact us and we will review and address the request in accordance with applicable law.
8. International Data Processing
Because the app uses third-party service providers, your data may be processed in countries other than your own.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions are effective when posted.
